ACI Webinar - Wildlife Trafficking in Latin America and the Caribbean

Latin America is home to more than 40% of the world’s biodiversity, with thousands of endemic and endangered species (UNDP). Illegal wildlife trade is one of the largest international crimes. It endangers species, hampers ecotourism, and may pose health and safety risks. It has also been identified as one of the factors that can contribute to the emergence of zoonotic diseases. Combatting wildlife trafficking requires concerted efforts from all aviation stakeholders.
In this webinar, we cover:
- General impacts of wildlife trafficking and the risks it poses to the aviation industry.
- Key insights into wildlife trafficking in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Introduction to the USAID Reducing Opportunities for Unlawful Transport of Endangered Species (ROUTES) Partnership.
This webinar is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
