Airports & Persons with Disabilities Handbook (2018)
Description
This handbook is primarily addressed to airport operators. It is intended to help airports enhance the accessibility of air travel for persons with disabilities, including those with reduced mobility.
It contains four chapters:
- Aims and purposes of the handbook
- Definitions and types of disability
- Infrastructure and architectural measures
- Operational and organisational measures
The recommendations in this handbook are intended to help airports effectively assist persons with disabilities when designing new facilities and improving existing ones. ACI hopes that implementation of the recommendations will contribute significantly towards the goal of barrier-free airports.

The ACI World Business Partners (WBP) program is open to businesses working with airports or airport-related industries. This unique program offers members the opportunity to connect with a global network of airports, access valuable tools and resources, and discover new business opportunities.
In the least developed countries, financial resources for training can be limited, so the ACI Fund seeks to open the door to career development for individuals while, at the same time, building capacity and safeguarding and enhancing professional standards in this community of airports.
