Management of Security Handbook
The Management of Security Handbook First Edition provides guidance on how to ensure all components of airport security are inter-linked to create a whole-of-system approach.
There are seven interrelated components that are critical for a proactive, business-centric approach to security included in this handbook:
- Commitment from management
- Threat and risk management
- Resource allocation
- Performance monitoring and measurement
- Quality management
- Incident management
- Continuous improvement, such as through a Security Management System (SeMS).
The Handbook advocates for outcome-based security facilitated by a regulatory flexible framework and, managed together, these principles of security provide operators with guidance on moving from a reactive approach to one that is more proactive.
